Cofinimmo included in Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024

For the second consecutive year, Cofinimmo has been recognised as one of the 600 Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024 by Statista and the Financial Times. Needless to say, we are proud to be the only real estate company among the 10 Belgian companies listed.

Methodology

The list includes companies that have significantly reduced their so-called Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity between 2017 and 2022. Scope 1 emissions originate from a company’s direct operations, while Scope 2 emissions are related to the energy they consume. The intensity is measured in tonnes of CO₂-equivalent per 1 million EUR of revenue. The evaluation also considers the transparency of companies regarding their Scope 3 emissions, which occur within their value chains, and their engagement with sustainability assessors like CDP and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These aspects are quantified into a score, which, when combined with the emissions intensity reduction, yields an overall ranking for each company.
